In order to be a legal expert/consultant in Korea, you must register with the Korean Bar Association as Foreign Legal Consultants (FLC). Foreign Legal Consultants are subject to the terms of the Foreign Legal Consultant Act (FLCA).

To register a candidate needs: a license to practice law, a minimum of three years of experience in providing legal services and the candidate must reside in South Korea for at least 180 days each year. The registration process is time consuming and can take up to 3 months.

Aside from a law degree and experience working as an attorney, a consultant typically needs to have specialized knowledge in one or more areas. The ability to lead and motivate others and communicate well  as a team player are highly valued skills in this field.

Your success as a legal expert/consultant depends not only on your education and experience, but also on your interpersonal skills. Additionally, in order to have a thriving consulting career in Korea, you need basic Korean language skills and the ability to adapt to new situations.

Salary And Working Hours
