[Job Description Overview]

The Content Innovation & Training Development Specialist executes plans for the writing, editing, and production of content throughout its development. He/she collaborates as necessary with other content innovation specialists on the instructional design and development of program, course, and textbook content, under the leadership and direction of Program Architects, Project Managers, and other senior staff. He/she is also responsible for planning, implementing, and conducting induction and recalibration training sessions and workshops for SPEP Intensive Corporate Trainers, under the collaborative leadership of the SPEP Intensive Program and R&D management staff.

 

[Locations/Schedule]

·         Seoul, Samseong Station

·         Monday to Friday 9:00AM ~ 6:00PM

·         Some Saturdays will be required

·         Start Date:  January 4, 2016 / February, 2016

 

[Salary]

·         Starting from 2.3 million per month (negotiable)

·         Extra housing stipend of 400,000KRW will be provided for E2 and F visa only

 

[Job description]

·         Design, develop, deliver, and evangelize “train the trainer” training curriculum and content that enable SPEP Intensive Corporate Trainers to provide traditional face-to-face instructor-led offerings and virtual instructor-led offerings to the highest of standards

·         Participate in internal projects and pilots as needed to ensure offerings are effective prior to wide-scale general availability

·         Partner with program architects, content innovation specialists, subject matter experts, corporate trainers, and others to assess and enhance existing SPEP program offerings to more fully implement SPEP learning methodologies and improve behavioral outcomes aligned with business needs

·         Develop detailed course development work plans that include key activities, timelines, and resource requirements needed to achieve objectives while adhering to established SPEP R&D content development process

·         Contribute to building a library of learning objects and instructional resources for SPEP R&D that can be used across multiple development experiences

·         Provide practical ideas and insights to support the development of new R&D course content and curriculum while maintaining high standards for instructional design services, professional development opportunities, and course delivery

·         Remain up to date on the latest trends in instructional design, teaching methodologies, and instructional technology and collaborate with team members to apply leading edge approaches to SPEP offerings

·         Collaboratively plan, develop and conduct workshops/seminars/presentations in English for corporate clients, business professionals, and SPEP corporate training staff.

·         Participate in the planning, development and facilitation of corporate trainer workshops and recalibration sessions.

·         Conduct on-site class monitoring sessions for corporate trainer evaluations and performance reviews

·         Continuously collaborate with SPEP Intensive Program management staff, senior instructors, on-site coordinators, and R&D staff to enhance outcomes of programs and courses

·         Keep records of and manage corporate trainer training/workshop results and feedback for regular review, analysis, and reporting to senior management

 

[Other Duties]

·         Create and implement guidelines for corporate trainer monthly student reports, ensuring that corporate trainers adhere to the guidelines and are held accountable for submitting excellent work

·         Create monthly student rosters and class divisions according to level test results

·         Provide logistics and administrative support for all new course/program preparation and launchings as necessary

·         Conduct speaking proficiency/level test assessments on a seasonal, monthly and/or needs-basis.

·         Assist in the preparation of proposals and other materials for clients.

 

[Basic Qualifications]

·         Korean / English bilingual capabilities: Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills in both languages

·         Demonstrated ability to work on one’s own and as a member of a collaborative team

·         Ability to follow through and deliver results and impact, as well as manage projects from start to finish

·         Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver content and materials utilizing skills in instructional design, program design & development, and teaching methodologies

·         Strong history of executing the vision of senior management

·         Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills required

·         Must have prior adult ESL content & curriculum development experience

·         Must have a minimum of 1 year Business English teaching experience and/or other work experience in Korea

·         Must be able to demonstrate complete mastery of written and verbal English

·         BA/MA in TESOL, Education, English, Linguistics, Journalism, Business

·         MS Office proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·         Excellent proofreading/editing/revision skills & extremely detail-oriented

·         Self-starter with strong sense of ownership and ability to work autonomously

·         Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team

 

[Writing Samples]

·         We ask applicants to provide us with some writing samples when they submit their application.  Applicants will need to prepare:

o    Academic writing sample (at least 1 page)

o    Creative writing sample (at least 1 page)

o    ESP (English For Specific Purposes) Lesson Plan

·         Beyond these three basic criteria, we leave it up to you to decide what to write about.  The contents of the 3 samples do not have to be extensive, just enough to display your writing prowess.
