The Department of English Studies at Seoul Digital University, one of the most acknowledged online universities in Korea, is seeking a well-qualified, experienced, highly-motivated candidate for a full time English professor position to begin teaching in the Spring 2016 semester.

 

Job Description
Title: full-time professor (non tenured, full time professor position) lecturing up to three courses per semester (maximum 6 courses per year)

On-line lecture filming & lecture management (discussion board, assignment, quiz & final exam); one lecture (3 credit) consists of14 weeks (1 week; 25mins X 3 sections = 75 mins)

 

Possible Courses:

1) Basic English Conversation (beginning level, intermediate level),

2) English Pronunciation Practice,

3) Business English Practice (beginning level, intermediate level)

 

Qualification

Native speaker of English who doesn’t have any unqualified reason for professor appointment based on Private School Act and the Law of Education of Korea
Master of Arts or Science degree (or higher degree) with at least two years of English teaching experience in English Institutions, English language centers or in universities
The applicants with a bachelor’s degree must have at least 4 years of English teaching experience in English institutions, English language centers or in universities.

 

Preferred Conditions

The applicants with teaching experience (lecture filming) in cyber (online based) university are preferred.
The applicants with majors (academic degree) in Business English areas and the related teaching experience are preferred.
The applicants with TESOL (ESL/EFL) certificates and English language education related certificates or majors are preferred.
The applicants who will be able to stay in Korea for a prolonged period and can communicate in Korean in a reasonable degree.
The applicants who can willingly participate in English department’s regular events and study meetings with students very actively

Copy of passport personal data page. Or copy of Alien Registration Card(ARC).
The syllabus outline (along with a sample lesson plan) is required based on the 14 week module (Among the above mentioned “possible courses”, one course can be selected for syllabus outline and lesson plan. Or if available, the applicant can submit more than one course.)
