General job description:

Kidsfactory is launching a brand-new service that combines English with art at kids’ cafes in South Korea. The purpose of this program is to provide to young children an enjoyable experience through art and play, while exposing them to English and cultural diversification through face-to-face interactions with a native speaker. We are looking for highly motivated and energetic teachers to join our brand-new campus in the city of Daegu. Both full-time and part-time positions are available; please see below for the detailed working conditions. While this is a teaching job, it will be geared much more towards creating a lively and fun educational experience for young children. Therefore, positive energy and a genuine love for being around children is a must.

Full-time teacher roles and responsibilities:

·         Follow the daily schedule as laid out by the institute, which will include:

o   Meet and greet

o   Teaching phonics

o   Playing with the children

o   Creating art

o   Teaching songs

o   Evaluating daily performance

o   Reading stories to children

o   Helping children with their homework

·         Assisting the staff with administrative duties

Full-time teacher qualifications:

·         Native English speaker

·         BA minimum from an accredited 4-year university

·         If currently in Korea, F4 (gyopo) or E2 visa. If overseas, all required documents for processing a visa (Apostilled National background check and apostilled copy of the official diploma

·         Must be energetic and love working with young children

Full-time teacher working conditions:

·         Location: Daegu-suseong

·         Starting date: End of February

·         Salary: 2.5-2.7 million KRW monthly

·         Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM or 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday-Friday

·         Teacher/student ratio: max 1:6

·         1-year contract

·         1-month severance pay after the completion of the 1-year contract

·         50% health insurance coverage

·         National pension

·         Housing allowance of 400,000 KRW monthly if already living in Korea. If not, then partially furnished housing will be provided near the institute.

·         10 days of paid vacation, as well as all national holidays

·         3 paid days of sick leave

·         For overseas teachers, round trip airfare reimbursement up to 1 million KRW, for domestic teachers, one-way airfare reimbursement up to 1 million KRW

Part-time teacher roles and responsibilities:

·         Supporting the full-time teacher with the daily activities

·         Playing with the children

·         Assisting the staff with administrative duties

Part-time teacher qualifications:

·         Fluent English speaker (does not have to be the first language)

·         E2, H-1 (working holiday), D-2 or D-4 (student visa)

Part-time teacher working conditions:

·         Hourly rate: 15,000 KRW

·         Hours: 10:00 AM – 3 PM or 3 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 19:00 PM, Saturday/Sunday (the working block can be negotiated with the institute)
