Coffee and cameras – Dreamy Cafe
It’s common to see a dog or cat cafe in Seoul neighborhoods, or a cute Hello Kitty cafe in a couple of countries throughout the globe, sheep cafe is unusual but you can find 1 in Seoul. A camera cafe seems normal, however, a camera themed cafe with a building outlook constructed exactly like a Rolleiflex, I would say it’s definitely the first one I have ever seen. This cute little vintage building, not too far outside of Seoul, is known as Dreamy Cafe.
When I first saw the picture of this building few months ago on Facebook, I can’t help but to think if it was real, glancing through their Facebook, and the next thing I found out that it was located just about 40 miles out of Seoul in the suburb county of Yang Pyeong, Dreamy Café was a dream of a married couple, they have a lovely daughter now, both with a cool and great job as the Army aviation pilots though the wife is a retiree now, running the café.
I have not been to the café yet, but I have seen many good reviews about it that makes me want to visit there someday. Meanwhile, I spent some time doing research online, jealousy aroused while reading articles about this little café, being awed by its unique exterior and interior designs.
The interior of the café mostly made out of wood, furniture arranged in a rather simple and comfortable manner. Even though they have a one of a kind building design, yet it doesn’t looks complex on the outside. The first floor of this café appeared to be a miniature museum of different kind of Rolleiflex cameras, neatly aligned and displayed on wooden shelves, attracting customers who came for a visit with its vintage charms. What I heard of is that even the tissue holder was designed into a film reel, indeed such an amazing theme for a café.
On the second floor, you can see the works of Mr. Park, the owner of the café, being hung up on the wall giving their customers a look of the beautiful images took by him.
For more information and directions to Dreamy Café, visit their official Facebook, they were very kind to provide clear directions by subway, train & taxi. Don’t forget to leave a picture as a memory if you are to ever visit there!
