Cat Cafe ( 고양이 다락방 ) ….. Kitty Kitty !!!!
Raise your hand if you are an animal lover!! Raise your hand if you love cats!! Raise your hands if you are a twilight fan !! Raise your hands if you are a House of
Night fan!! Raise your hands if you can meow!! . You got it , this blog of mine is about a cat cafe that i visited with one of my closest in Seoul last week . I never
heard of such an awesome concept ever before in my life , though i was always a cat fan and all into its association with darkness and vampires . Yes you read it
correctly a cat cafe house . A cat coffee house quite popular and with many in Seoul , is a regular coffee shop that you visited before but this time with all breeds
of cats roaming freely along-with . I belong to a place where cats are bad omens to keep in houses , though am not a big fan of this stereotype , in fact just an
opposite kind cat lover . Touching the cat the first time gave me like goosebumps , and soon my fingers were lost in the silky fur . So , this place i visited ,
charges 8000 KRW(Korean Won) which would be similar at most of the places which includes the entry , price for one drink(coffee of-course) , no restrictions on the time you sit there and of-course the awesome opportunity to play with cats .You can simply browse it with the keyword “animal cafe ” or “cat cafe” in Korea or precisely 고양이 다락방 .The one i mentioned is in Gangnam , very close to the famous Gangnam Bus Terminal ,though there are many more.
To make you go live in your imaginations while you are hugging your heart shaped pillow or cuddling while reading this , you are asked to wash your hands with a special liquid soap and take off the shoes(don’t worry you will get a slipper) before you enter this place. Once you are inside , there is a counter where you can order a drink. You are given a set of do’s and don’ts written in Korean while you are waiting for your order . Though the instructions translated by the helper there
(no worries if you are with a Korean friend , like in my case) are quite sane and common unless you are not crazy to an extent where you start acting like a cat
yourself ( just kidding lol …. ) .
Here are a few that i remember – :
1. You are not supposed to pat the cat too hard ( make sure its alive when it leaves you )
2. If a cat comes to you , and tries sitting on you , call the helper if you don’t want it (don’t just throw the cat away like a paper ball )
3. Never disturb a cat when it is eating ( imagine how it feels when someone runs away with your coffee drink )
4. Don’t lift the cat if they are sleeping ( remember how we all hate our morning alarm clocks !!)
5. Don’t feed the cats ( though some just start sipping your coffee by themselves )
6. Don’t roll on the floor ( remember you were the “Human” , not the “Cat” !!)
Anyways enough of the instructions and lets start playing with the cats . Honestly , i never imagined cats to be so many different breeds and types . When most of you are sitting and chatting with your friends ( if supposedly) , this silky fur creature jumps on you and sits on your laps . You might also be lucky to have a group of them approaching you asking for affection and love . In my case , it was more than just sitting on my laps , one of them climbed my shoulders and sat on my hoodie and slept .I read in one of my favorite vampire novels , that the cat chooses its own , which i witnessed when i went to this place . All are not lucky to have cats loved them ( though in my case it was overly flowing love ) , you are given cat food to feed them after some time by the helpers , and then you have many cats surrounding you in groups , some climbing you , some snatching the meal( kidding , they were seriously trained and decent) , some cuddling your legs .In all it was an unforgettable memory and i wish you all many more awesomeness and memories the next time you get to visit there .
